What is the great mystery? Is it not that in some mysterious manner life  manifests in matter now, but suddenly then, is gone?

Like children sitting around our campfire here in the dark, we are suddenly astonished at the appearance of some beautiful animal – perhaps a raccoon – and then he’s gone. Alas ! we wail inconsolate – there is no more raccoon ! Darkness has taken him away.

Adults, however, know the raccoon has a wider existence that we sitting around the campfire cannot follow. We must wait for the illumination of death.
